Ahasa” – Sri Lanka’s Newest TV Channel

A media briefing on “Ahasa,” Sri Lanka’s newest television channel, was held at the channel’s studio complex in Battaramulla.

The channel is being launched by Business Media International.

Speaking at the media briefing, Group Chairman Nilanga Karunaratne shared details about the new television channel.

Sabeetha Hettiarachchi serves as the Chairperson of Ahasa.

The following officials hold key positions at the new television channel:

• Mr. Viraj Malinga – Head of Programmes

• Mr. Upendra Herath – Head of News

• Dr. Senesh Disanayaka – Chief Content Officer

• Mr. Nilanga Karunaratne – Group Chairman

• Mrs. Sabeetha Hettiarachchi – Chairperson

• Mr. Ajith Ramanayake – Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

• Mr. Nilupa Ranaveera – Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The organisers also emphasised that Ahasa is not owned by the Rajapaksa family, amid discussion surrounding the launch of the new television channel.
