Sri Lankan Entrepreneurs Unite in Melbourne to Boost Economic Ties

Sri Lankan entrepreneurs, diplomats and business leaders gathered in Melbourne for Sri Lankan Entrepreneurs’ Night 2026, organised by the Australia Sri Lanka Business Forum (ASLBF) on August 15.

Sri Lanka’s Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Minister Sunil Handunnetti delivered the keynote address, highlighting the important role of overseas Sri Lankan entrepreneurs in investment, innovation and economic development.

The Minister invited Sri Lankan business leaders abroad to invest in Sri Lanka and said the government is working to create a transparent, corruption-free and investment-friendly environment.

The event brought together representatives from the Sri Lankan and Australian business communities, including diplomats and senior officials from the EDB and BOI.

The gathering highlighted growing Australia–Sri Lanka business ties and encouraged greater collaboration in investment, technology, manufacturing and entrepreneurship.
