Sri Lankan Teen Bhavithra Gananathan Cast as Sita in Diwali Story at Wembley

At just 19 years old, Sri Lankan actor and writer Bhavithra Gananathan has been cast as Sita in Diwali Story: The Journey of Ram – A Musical, which will be staged at the OVO Arena Wembley in London.

The live musical will feature a professional ensemble performing alongside approximately 100 actors and dancers, following the production’s sold-out staging at the Royal Albert Hall in 2025.

Bhavithra, who is currently studying Psychology at Queen Mary University of London, has already built an impressive performing arts portfolio. She has performed with the National Theatre Company and the Rose Theatre Company and previously appeared in Ravi Chand’s Namaste Yoga.

A multi-talented performer, Bhavithra is also a writer and classically trained Bharatanatyam dancer. In 2024, she was named the winner of the National Iris Breuer Writing Award.

Her casting as Sita marks another significant milestone in her emerging career and brings Sri Lankan talent to a major international stage.
