Sri Lankan-British Actor Tarun Sivakanesh Builds International Acting Career

Sri Lankan-born actor Tarun Sivakanesh has built an impressive international acting career from a young age, earning recognition across major British theatre and television productions.

Tarun made his theatre debut in “Dear Octopus” at London’s Royal National Theatre, where he became the first Sri Lankan child actor from his background to take on a lead role in a production at the theatre.

He later joined the cast of the BBC drama “The Beaker Girls”, playing Ajay Rajani-Martin in its second series.

His first screen role came at just six years old when he appeared in the BBC production “Black Narcissus”, which was filmed at Pinewood Studios.

Beyond acting, Tarun is also a talented pianist and cricketer. He has further expanded his creative experience by working on a project directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson for the Warner Bros. Pinocchio musical, appearing alongside actor Luke Evans.

Tarun has also maintained a strong connection with Sri Lanka. In a recent social media post featuring a photograph taken in the country, he described Sri Lanka as his “favourite island in the world.”

From the stages of London to international screen productions, Tarun continues to build a promising career while keeping his connection to his Sri Lankan roots.
