· Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka has been selected to host the next convention of the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), following the successful participation of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) at TAFI’s 40th anniversary celebration in Rhodes, Greece, on October 5 and 6, 2026.
The event brought together more than 400 Indian travel companies, providing a platform for business discussions, business-to-business (B2B) meetings and networking aimed at building new partnerships and strengthening tourism ties.
Sri Lanka’s participation offered an opportunity to promote the island as a destination for Indian travellers while engaging with travel industry representatives and exploring opportunities for greater cooperation between the two countries.
The announcement that Sri Lanka will host TAFI’s next convention marks a significant opportunity to strengthen tourism links with India, one of the region’s important travel markets. The convention is expected to bring more than 400 Indian travel companies to Sri Lanka, creating opportunities to showcase the country’s tourism products and experiences directly to industry stakeholders.
From its golden beaches and lush landscapes to its rich cultural heritage, historic sites and distinctive hospitality, Sri Lanka offers a diverse range of experiences for visitors. Hosting the convention will provide a platform to highlight these attractions and encourage new business connections between Sri Lankan tourism operators and Indian travel professionals.
The initiative also reflects the importance of industry partnerships and direct engagement in expanding international tourism markets. By bringing travel agents and tourism stakeholders together, the convention can help build awareness of Sri Lanka’s offerings and explore opportunities for future travel business.
With the next TAFI convention set to take place in Sri Lanka, the country looks forward to welcoming Indian travel industry leaders and strengthening its position as a destination offering diverse experiences, warm hospitality and lasting connections.
