Sri Lanka Ranks 27th in Numbeo 2026 Mid-Year Health Care Index

Sri Lanka has been ranked 27th among 101 countries in Numbeo’s 2026 Mid-Year Health Care Index, recording a score of 70.77, rounded to 70.8.

The ranking places Sri Lanka ahead of Malaysia, China and India, while Singapore, Japan and Thailand recorded higher health care index scores.

Numbeo’s Health Care Index is based on user-contributed data and evaluates factors including the perceived skill and competence of medical staff, speed of examinations and reports, availability and quality of medical equipment, staff friendliness, waiting times and responsiveness, and the convenience of health care facilities.

Sri Lanka recorded a health care index score of 70.77, compared with 70.72 for Malaysia, 69.56 for China and 65.55 for India in the 2026 Mid-Year ranking. Singapore recorded 71.86, while Japan and Thailand were also ranked above Sri Lanka.

The ranking provides an international comparison of perceptions and experiences related to health care systems, rather than an official assessment of clinical outcomes or government health-care performance.
