Sri Lanka Cricket Team Departs for 2026 Asian Games

The Sri Lankan cricket team selected to represent the country at the 2026 Asian Games departed from Sri Lanka Cricket today ahead of the tournament in Japan.

The team will compete in the men’s T20 cricket competition at the Asian Games, which is scheduled to take place from September 24 to October 3 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Sri Lanka has been named among the 15-member squads for the competition, with Sahan Arachchige appointed as captain.

Speaking to the media before the team’s departure, captain Sahan Arachchige shared his views regarding the team’s preparations and participation in the tournament.

Sri Lanka has received direct qualification to the quarter-finals and is scheduled to begin its campaign on September 29.
