Sri Lanka calls for de-escalation as FM Vijitha Herath meets Iranian Foreign Minister

Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath met with the Iranian Foreign Minister to review bilateral relations and discuss escalating security concerns across the Middle East.

During the talks, Minister Herath reaffirmed Sri Lanka's long-standing position advocating for restraint, de-escalation, and the peaceful resolution of international disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.

The two ministers also addressed areas of mutual interest, including bilateral economic ties, maritime safety, and diplomatic engagement within multilateral forums.
