Representatives of Sri Lanka’s solar energy industry took to the streets in Colombo to raise public awareness about the challenges currently facing the country’s renewable energy sector.
A special leaflet-distribution campaign was held in front of the Colombo Fort Railway Station, organised by the Renewable Energy Development Front.
The campaign aimed to educate the public on the current issues affecting Sri Lanka’s renewable energy sector and highlight the importance of promoting renewable energy.
Solar energy companies, industry associations, installers and other businesses connected to the renewable energy sector from across the country participated in the awareness campaign.
Organisers said the main objectives were to draw public attention to the challenges facing the industry and secure public support for a safe and sustainable energy future.
The campaign was attended by Ruwan Charam, Chairman of the Renewable Energy Development Front, and Sajith Jayawardena, its Co-Secretary.
