Six-year-old Chinese Girl Sets New Rubik's Cube World Record

A six-year-old Chinese girl has set a new women’s world record for solving a 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube, showcasing remarkable speed at two competitions held in China.

Lian Yunzhi, a native of Chengdu and nicknamed “Zhizhi”, solved the cube in 4.52 seconds at a World Cube Association-certified competition in Wuhan earlier this month.

Just three days later, she recorded an even faster time of 4.27 seconds at another competition in Guangzhou.

According to Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, Lian became the first female speedcuber to average under 4.5 seconds.

The young speedcuber has reportedly mastered more than 1,300 Rubik’s Cube solving algorithms and trains for around two to three hours each day.

Her mother, Lin Yangxi, said the child has been dedicating significant time to practising the puzzle as she continues to develop her speedcubing skills.
