Significant delays at Sydney Airport as dozens of flights remain grounded

Dozens of flights out of Sydney Airport have been delayed, with some by more than an hour.

According to FlightRadar24, the delays started early on Friday and have continued to get longer throughout the day.

One passenger told 7NEWS she was on a plane and ready to take off when it suddenly turned back to the gate.

“The radar wasn’t working and the back-up wasn’t working either,” she said.

“An hour-and-a-half later we took off.”

7NEWS.com.au has approached Sydney Airport for comment.
