The Shoppes at City of Dreams Sri Lanka marked a major milestone in its journey as a lifestyle destination by officially welcoming Scope Cinemas as its entertainment anchor, alongside a spectacular red carpet premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Announced during an exclusive press event, the upcoming Scope Cinemas multiplex will feature five state-of-the-art screens and is set to open on Level 10 before the end of 2026. The cinema will introduce next-generation viewing technology, including two premium VIP halls complete with private lounges and gourmet dining experiences, raising the bar for moviegoers in Sri Lanka.
As the official premiere event partner for Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Sri Lanka, The Shoppes hosted a glamorous evening attended by media, partners, and invited guests. The event offered a preview of the elevated entertainment experiences that visitors can expect once the multiplex opens its doors.
The night concluded with a first-of-its-kind Spider-Man-themed drone show, illuminating the Colombo skyline with stunning aerial formations inspired by scenes from the film, along with displays of The Shoppes and Scope Cinemas branding.
