Sandayuru Ariyasinghe to Represent Sri Lanka at IOI 2026

Sri Lankan student Sandayuru Ariyasinghe has been selected to represent the country at the 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2026), one of the world’s most prestigious computer science competitions for school students.
Ariyasinghe earned his place on the Sri Lankan national team after achieving a high ranking at the National Olympiad in Informatics, held earlier this year.
The IOI 2026 is being held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from August 9 to 16, bringing together some of the world’s most talented young competitive programmers.
Students from 96 countries are participating in the international competition, which challenges participants in areas including algorithms, programming and computational problem-solving.
Ariyasinghe’s selection marks a significant achievement in his academic journey and provides an opportunity to showcase Sri Lankan talent on a global stage in computer science and competitive programming.
