Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh To Visit Sri Lanka In September

Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is reportedly scheduled to undertake an official visit to the country on September 9th and 10th of next month.
Citing sources from the Indian Ministry of Defence, "The Hindu" news website reported that during the visit, the Indian Defence Minister is scheduled to hold discussions with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, and Defence Secretary Sampath Thuyacontha.
The report also states that special attention will be focused on the security of the Indian Ocean region during these discussions.
Additionally, a review regarding the implementation of the "India-Sri Lanka Defence Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding," which was signed during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the island in April of last year, is scheduled to take place during the Indian Defence Minister's official visit.
