Police Ask Balangoda Kassapa Thera and Monks to Leave Presidential Secretariat Premises

Police officers requested Venerable Balangoda Kassapa Thera and other Buddhist monks to leave the area outside the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.

During the afternoon, senior police officers who summoned the monk to the location informed the group that they should vacate the premises.

In response, Venerable Balangoda Kassapa Thera told the police that the monks would finish their midday alms meal before leaving, adding that they would respect the law and depart once the meal was completed.
