Passengers overcame co-pilot who tried to crash flydubai flight, Netanyahu says

The co-pilot of a flydubai flight en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv attempted to deliberately crash the passenger plane after attacking and stabbing the captain inside the cockpit, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed on Wednesday. The terrifying mid-air altercation prompted immediate emergency protocols.

According to officials, passengers on board reacted swiftly to the unfolding crisis, assisting flight crew members in physically restraining the co-pilot. Other flight personnel were subsequently able to regain control of the aircraft and navigate it away from potential catastrophe.

The airliner made an emergency diversion and safely touched down in Saudi Arabia, where emergency medical and security services were waiting on the tarmac. Passengers and crew were safely disembarked, while the injured captain received medical attention.

Prime Minister Netanyahu praised the prompt and brave intervention of the passengers and crew members, emphasizing that their coordinated efforts averted an immense loss of civilian lives over regional airspace.
