NLB Launches New “Ayubo” Lottery to Support Sri Lanka’s Health Sector

The National Lotteries Board (NLB) today (23) officially launched its newest lottery, “Ayubo,” at the Ministry of Health and Mass Media.

The lottery was launched under the patronage of Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

The event was attended by NLB Chairman M. D. C. A. Perera, NLB General Manager A. M. Arif, Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Mass Media and Chairman of the National Health Development Fund Dr. Anil Jasinghe, and several other officials.

New Lottery Aimed at Supporting Healthcare

The National Lotteries Board, which holds a significant place in Sri Lanka’s lottery history, has continued its social mission of contributing to national development and public welfare while providing opportunities for the public to win prizes.

The NLB’s first lottery, the “Hospital Lottery,” was introduced to support the advancement of healthcare services. Although its name was subsequently changed, the organisation says its social mission of contributing a portion of lottery revenue towards the health sector has continued.

With the aim of further expanding this contribution, the NLB has introduced the new “Ayubo” lottery to the market.

According to the NLB, while providing opportunities for lucky winners, the new lottery will also contribute towards the development of healthcare services and support efforts to save lives.

The NLB said the Ayubo lottery represents another step in strengthening its social responsibility and will provide the public with an opportunity to contribute towards the country’s health services while also having the chance to win prizes.

Funds to Support Hospitals

The NLB said its lottery revenue is allocated to various areas, including the Ministry of Health, the Consolidated Fund, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ranaviru Seva Authority Fund, the Social Services Fund, the Sports Fund, the Shram Vasana Fund and the National Kidney Fund.

As part of its efforts to further expand its contribution to the health sector, the Ayubo lottery will provide funding to the National Health Development Fund.

According to the NLB, these funds will be used for activities including providing essential medical equipment to hospitals across the country and improving hospital infrastructure.

First Draw on October 12

The first draw of the new Ayubo lottery is scheduled to be held as a special draw on October 12, 2026.

In addition to the regular prize structure, the special draw will provide opportunities to win prizes through the Millionaire Number, Lakshapathi Number and Gold Coin Number.

The NLB said the Ayubo lottery will be drawn seven days a week from October 12, providing opportunities for winners while also contributing towards the healthcare sector.

Regular Ayubo Lottery Prize Structure

The regular prize structure, based on matching numbers from the last digit towards the beginning, is as follows:

• All numbers in sequence with the English letter – Rs. 500,000

• Four numbers in sequence – Rs. 50,000

• Last three numbers in sequence with the English letter – Rs. 25,000

• Last three numbers in sequence – Rs. 2,000

• Last two numbers in sequence with the English letter – Rs. 1,000

• Last two numbers – Rs. 200

• Last digit in sequence with the English letter – Rs. 80

• Matching the last digit – Rs. 40

The launch ceremony was held at the auditorium of the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, with the participation of senior officials from the Ministry and the National Lotteries Board.

The NLB invited the public to purchase the new Ayubo lottery, become eligible for its prizes and contribute towards efforts to strengthen Sri Lanka’s healthcare services.
