Nine arrested in Jaffna with sharp weapons, Rs. 900,000 cash

Nine individuals, among them a woman, were apprehended by Jaffna Police after being intercepted while travelling in a suspicious manner in the Northern Province [1.1].

Upon inspecting the vehicle, officers recovered a cache of sharp weapons along with Rs. 900,000 in undeclared cash, which the suspects were unable to account for.

Police have initiated a comprehensive probe to determine whether the apprehended individuals are connected to organized criminal networks operating in the region.
