New High Court judges sworn in before Chief Justice

Three Justices who were recently appointed as High Court Judges have officially taken their oaths before the Chief Justice of Sri Lanka, Preethi Padman Surasena, at the Supreme Court complex in Colombo.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by senior members of the judiciary, legal practitioners, and court administrative staff. The newly sworn-in judges are expected to assume their duties shortly at designated High Court jurisdictions across the island.

The Judicial Service Commission has periodically recommended elevations and judicial appointments to clear case backlogs in provincial High Courts and ensure the timely delivery of criminal and civil justice.
