MYRUS Elite Nation 2026 Brings Together Over 100 Athletes for National Calisthenics Competition

The MYRUS Elite Nation 2026 national calisthenics competition, organised by Myrus Colombo Centre under the theme of disciplined strength, body and mind, was recently held at the Myrus Sports Complex.

More than 100 male and female athletes participated in the competition, which provided free participation opportunities for competitors.

Beyond a sporting event, MYRUS Elite Nation is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at empowering Sri Lankan youth, promoting physical fitness and supporting the development of calisthenics as a recognised competitive sport in Sri Lanka.

Calisthenics is a form of exercise that uses a person’s body weight to develop strength and physical ability. The initiative seeks to encourage young people to build discipline, resilience, confidence, healthy habits and a sense of purpose.

The programme also aims to provide young people with positive opportunities amid challenges associated with drug use, substance misuse, harmful addictions and other negative influences.

Olympic badminton player Niluka Karunaratne attended the event as the chief guest. Myrus founder Dr. Miyuru Jayawera, along with sports club officials and athletes, also participated in the occasion.

Through this initiative, Myrus Colombo Centre aims to promote calisthenics and encourage a healthier, more disciplined lifestyle among Sri Lankan youth.
