Milk Cows Distributed to Cyclone-Displaced Families in Rajanganaya

A special religious and community service programme was held at the Eeyam Poruwa Temple in Sri Jayawardenepura under the patronage of Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Western Province Sajeewa Medawatta.

The programme, organised by the Saddheepa Anagathaya Foundation, included the distribution of dairy cattle to people affected by the Cyclone Ditwah in the Yaya 2 area of Rajanganaya.

Senior DIG Sajeewa Medawatta attended the event as the chief guest, while Samatha Ranwala de Silva, Chairman of the foundation, was also present.

During the programme, 22 dairy cattle were handed over to people displaced by the cyclone in the Rajanganaya Yaya 2 area.

Speaking further at the event, Senior DIG Medawatta urged the public to exercise caution when renting out houses. He said that during raids targeting drugs and weapons, authorities have frequently observed such activities being carried out in rented houses.

He therefore called on the public to remain vigilant when renting out their properties. He also said that information provided by the public has contributed to the prevention of drug-related activities.

Sri Lanka Police records identify Sajeewa Medawatta as the Senior Deputy Inspector General in charge of the Western Province.
