Sri Lanka’s rising swimming talent M.F. Mohammed delivered an impressive performance to secure a silver medal at the Asian Age Group Swimming Championship held in Bangkok, Thailand.
Competing in the 100m butterfly boys’ event, Mohammed clocked a remarkable time of 54.94 seconds, showcasing both speed and technical excellence in the pool. His achievement marks Sri Lanka’s first medal at this year’s championship, placing the island nation on the regional swimming map once again.
A student of Zahira College, Colombo, Mohammed represents the Killer Whale Aquatics Club and has been steadily building a reputation as one of the country’s most promising young swimmers. His silver-medal finish reflects months of rigorous training and dedication, as well as the growing strength of Sri Lanka’s youth swimming program.
With this breakthrough performance, attention now turns to Mohammed’s potential in other events, including the 50m, 100m, and 200m butterfly categories, where he is expected to challenge for top honors and possibly set new benchmarks.
