Metro Bus Services to Expand Across Five New Colombo Routes

Metro Bus services are set to expand across Colombo with five additional routes scheduled to commence operations from tomorrow (September 29).
The new routes will connect key areas across Colombo and the suburbs:
Millennium City – Colombo Fort: 22.3 km
Kahathuduwa – Pettah: 35.7 km
Dematagoda – Panadura: 28.7 km
Battaramulla – Ekala: 29.9 km
Kollupitiya Circular Route: 14 km
Metro Transit Bus Company Chairman U.P. Thilakarathna stated that 25 buses are scheduled to operate on each route.
He added that the number of buses will be increased according to passenger demand, with the expansion aimed at providing greater public transport connectivity across Colombo and surrounding areas.
