JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva Holds Talks with BJP National General Secretary in India

A delegation from the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), led by General Secretary Tilvin Silva, who is currently visiting India at the invitation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), held discussions with BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B. L. Santhosh on September 28, 2026.

During the meeting, the BJP delegation provided a detailed briefing on the history and organisational structure of the party, including its methods of organising party membership down to the grassroots and rural levels. Discussions also covered development projects and programmes being implemented in India, as well as the leadership provided by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country's development efforts.

The two sides also discussed the importance of strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the JVP and BJP as part of efforts to further develop relations and friendship between Sri Lanka and India.

In addition, the JVP delegation held discussions with Rupkumari Chaudhary, National President of the BJP's women's organisation, as well as Vineet Vats Tyagi and Bhakti Sharma, representatives of the BJP's youth organisation.
