Jetstar’s First Flight Lands in Colombo, Connecting Melbourne Directly to Sri Lanka

Australia’s Jetstar Airways has officially commenced operations in Sri Lanka, with its inaugural direct flight from Melbourne arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today (25).

The historic first flight was operated by a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, marking Jetstar’s debut in the Sri Lankan market.

The new direct service provides travellers with another convenient option to travel between Melbourne and Colombo, while further strengthening air connectivity between Sri Lanka and Australia.

The arrival of Jetstar is also expected to support tourism and travel between the two countries by expanding direct air links and offering passengers greater choice.
