Jennifer Keen, 27, remembered as ‘kind soul’ after horror Westfield Knox crash in Melbourne

A young woman who was fatally struck by a Tesla while on her lunch break has been remembered as a “kind soul”.

Jennifer Keen, 27, was waiting at a pedestrian crossing when she was hit by a Tesla which then ploughed into Martini+Co cafe at Westfield Knox in Melbourne’s Wantirna South about 12.45pm on Monday.

Despite desperate efforts to save her, Keen died at the scene.

She was just about 100m from her job at a nearby call centre.

Social media posts show the 27-year-old was an avid anime fan who loved cosplay.

Tributes have continued to grow at the scene as friends, colleagues and members of the community mourn her death.

A colleague said Keen would be sorely missed, remembering her as bubbly and sweet and describing her as a “kind soul”.

The 51-year-old woman behind the wheel of the Tesla and her passenger were both taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police do not believe the crash was an intentional act.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has footage or other information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
