Harschit Damodaran claims gold as India secures double podium at Asian gymnastics event

Indian gymnastics has achieved a historic breakthrough at the 2026 Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Zunyi, China, with standout performances in the junior men’s vault event.

Harschit Damodaran delivered an exceptional routine to secure the gold medal, marking a major milestone in his career and a proud moment for Indian gymnastics. Adding to the celebration, fellow Indian gymnast Akshat Bajaj claimed the silver medal, completing a remarkable 1–2 finish for India in the event.

The success came shortly after another significant achievement, as Harschit also played a key role in the Indian junior men’s team that earned a bronze medal—India’s first-ever team podium finish at the championships.
