Hindu Organisations Hold Satyagraha Calling for Anojan Sivarasa’s Life to Be Spared

The Federation of Hindu Organisations held a satyagraha in front of the Fort Railway Station, calling for the life of the young Sri Lankan who has been sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia to be spared.

A group of Hindu devotees lit lamps and staged the peaceful protest, urging that steps be taken to save the young man’s life.

The protesters also expressed their views to the media.

The protest comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts by the Sri Lankan authorities regarding the case. The Foreign Ministry has said it is continuing to engage with the relevant Saudi authorities and is taking steps to safeguard Anojan Sivarasa’s interests and provide him with assistance.
