From 10 Million YouTube Subscribers to Colombo’s Newest Café: Chef Charith N. Silva Opens Wildoré Café & Bakery

Sri Lankan chef and digital creator Charith N. Silva, the founder of Wild Cookbook and Wildish, has expanded his culinary journey with the opening of Wildoré Café & Bakery on 20 October 2026.

Located at 65 Jawatta Road, Colombo 05, the new café brings together coffee, matcha, freshly baked pastries and sandwiches, adding another venture to Silva’s growing presence in Sri Lanka’s food and hospitality industry.

Silva first rose to prominence through Wild Cookbook, which he launched in 2020. The platform grew rapidly, making history as Sri Lanka’s first YouTube channel to reach 10 million subscribers. Through engaging food content and his passion for cooking, Silva built a substantial digital following and established himself as a recognised name in the country’s culinary scene.

His achievements also earned him a place on Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia in 2025, marking a significant milestone in his professional journey.

Moving beyond digital content creation, Silva opened Wildish in Colombo in November 2024, further developing his vision of bringing distinctive food experiences to a wider audience.

With Wildoré Café & Bakery, he is extending that vision into the café and bakery space. The new establishment offers a combination of popular café beverages and convenient food options, catering to Colombo’s growing café culture.
