Former SIS Chief Suresh Sallay taken into CID custody after being discharged from hospital

Former Director of the State Intelligence Service (SIS), Major General Suresh Sallay, was taken into custody by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday shortly after being discharged from the hospital.

The development followed a recommendation by a designated medical board, which evaluated Sallay's condition and concluded that his health status permitted his discharge from inpatient hospital care.

Sallay has been under scrutiny in connection with multiple ongoing investigations regarding past intelligence operations. Following his transfer into CID custody, investigators are expected to conduct further interrogation regarding these matters.
