Flood Preparedness Drill Conducted in Kolonnawa

A flood preparedness drill is being conducted across several Grama Niladhari divisions in Kolonnawa, organised by the Disaster Management Centre.

The drill, held today with the participation of the Police, Sri Lanka Army, Divisional Secretariat, Kotte-Kotikawatta-Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha, and other relevant authorities, focused on emergency response measures in the event of flooding.

During the exercise, the Police carried out public awareness activities to inform residents in the event of a sudden flood situation.

The Sri Lanka Army also demonstrated the rescue and evacuation of persons with disabilities and patients who are ill, transporting them to safe locations.
