Ex-State Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa's case fixed for trial

The Colombo High Court today scheduled September 28 as the date to commence trial proceedings in a corruption case filed against former State Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa and three co-accused.

The case, filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), involves allegations regarding the misuse of state resources and unlawful administrative decisions during his former office tenure.

When the matter was taken up before the High Court judge today, summons were issued to key prosecution witnesses to appear in court on the fixed trial date for preliminary examination.
