Education is a right, not a privilege, PM Harini says

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has stated that education is a fundamental right of every child and not a privilege.

She made these remarks while attending the “Nana Isura - 2026” scholarship awarding ceremony held today (02) in memory of the late Ven. Galboda Siri Gnanissara Thero.

The Prime Minister said the Nana Isura scholarship programme would strengthen the government’s efforts to eliminate circumstances that compel children to leave the education system.
