Development Lotteries Board Presents Prize Cheques to 64 Winners Across Sri Lanka

The Development Lotteries Board presented prize cheques to its millionaire jackpot winners, along with 25-lakh, 20-lakh and 10-lakh prize winners, at a ceremony held on September 23, 2026.

For four decades, the Development Lotteries Board has continued its national mission by providing opportunities for the public to win through its lottery sales while also contributing funds to several important national programmes.

The institution contributes funds through the President’s Fund to support treatment for patients suffering from serious illnesses, including heart conditions, as well as for complex surgeries. It also contributes towards the Mahapola Higher Education Scholarship Fund.

The cheque presentation ceremony for major winners from different districts across the country, including 20-lakh and 10-lakh winners, was held at the Development Lotteries Board headquarters on September 23.

The event was held under the leadership of Development Lotteries Board General Manager Anura Jayaratne, with the participation of senior management.

Cheques were presented to the winner of the Rs. 61,226,462 jackpot from the Shanida Lottery. In addition, six winners of Rs. 2.5 million each from the Super Dhan Sampatha Lottery also received their prize cheques.

Further cheques were presented to winners of Rs. 2 million and Rs. 1 million prizes from several other Development Lottery draws.

Rs. 2 Million Prize Winners

The 20-lakh winners were distributed among the following lotteries:

• Kapruka Lottery — 13 winners

• Super Ball Lottery — 7 winners

• Ada Kotipathi Lottery — 7 winners

• Shanida Lottery — 4 winners

Total Rs. 2 million winners: 31

Rs. 1 Million Prize Winners

The 10-lakh winners were from the:

• Lagni Wasana Lottery — 26 winners

Total Rs. 1 million winners: 26

Accordingly, a total of 64 winners from across the country received prize money through Development Lottery tickets.

According to the Development Lotteries Board, the total value of the prize money distributed to the 64 winners was Rs. 164,226,461.
