Cyclist freed from beneath four-wheel drive after becoming trapped in crash on Adelaide Hills road

A teenage cyclist has been rescued from beneath a four-wheel drive after a crash in the Adelaide Hills on Thursday morning. Emergency services were called to Ironbank Rd at Ironbank just before 9am following reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle. The 19-year-old Upper Sturt man had reportedly fallen from his bike on a bend before being struck by an approaching 4WD. His bicycle became lodged under the vehicle’s rear tyre, leaving him pinned until emergency crews were able to free him. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the 4WD, a 56-year-old Joslin man, was not injured.
