Cricket Legends Triumph in Star-Studded Charity T20

The Sri Lankan Cricket Legends, led by 1996 World Cup-winning captain Arjuna Ranatunga, secured a memorable 49-run victory over the International Rugby Stars in a special charity T20 match held at the Thurstan College Grounds in Colombo.

Batting first, the Sri Lankan Cricket Legends posted a competitive total of 139 for 4 from their allotted overs, with the veteran cricketers showcasing flashes of the class that made them household names in Sri Lankan cricket.

The International Rugby Stars, featuring an impressive line-up of international rugby personalities including Wallabies legend David Campese and players associated with the Northampton Saints, were unable to match the cricketing experience of their opponents. They were restricted to 90 runs, handing the Sri Lankan Cricket Legends a convincing 49-run victory.

While the result provided plenty of entertainment for the spectators, the real winner of the evening was a much more important cause.

The cross-sport exhibition match was organised to raise awareness and funds for the Lanka Alzheimer's Foundation, bringing together sporting legends, fans and the wider community in support of an important cause.

The star-studded encounter provided a unique opportunity for cricket and rugby personalities to come together on the same field, creating an entertaining and memorable occasion for supporters.
