Asia's oldest tennis tournament, the Colombo Championship Tennis Tournament, is being held this year
A media briefing was held at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association recently.
This year's tournament is being held for the 111th time.
More than three million rupees are set to be awarded as prize money for the tournament this year.
Last year, about 1,500 athletes participated in the tournament, and the organizers say that more will participate this year.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on the 19th of this month.
Arrangements have been made to hold matches for three weeks.
Sri Lanka's leading athletes will join this.
