Bus Priority Lane Rule Reintroduced in Colombo from Today

The Government has reintroduced the bus priority lane rule in Colombo and its surrounding areas with effect from today (29 September).

Accordingly, the rule will be enforced from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Transport Minister Bimal Rathnayake said the programme would be implemented as a pilot project starting today.

Meanwhile, Police said all officers had been instructed to take legal action against motorists who violate the bus priority lane rule.
