CIO Tech Marathon 2026 Held in Colombo

The CIO Tech Marathon 2026 was held this evening near Colombo’s Independence Square, alongside the World CIO 200 Grand Finale 2026, which Sri Lanka is hosting for the first time.

The marathon was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Minister of Science and Technology Professor Krishantha Abeysena, who officially flagged off the event.

More than 200 local and international technology professionals, young professionals and students participated in the event.

The marathon covered a distance of 5 kilometres (5K).

The race started near Torrington Square, proceeded through the SSC Grounds and along Independence Avenue, completing two laps before finishing at the original starting point.
