China’s 77th National Day Celebrated in Colombo

The 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China was commemorated today at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo.

The celebration was held under the patronage of Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Wei Huaxiang.

Minister of Ports and Energy Anura Karunathilaka attended the event as the Chief Guest.

Former Presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa and Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, government and opposition parliamentarians and ministers, as well as foreign diplomatic representatives, also attended the ceremony.

The event brought together political representatives, diplomats and other distinguished guests to mark the national day of the People’s Republic of China.
