CBC Finance Moves Head Office to Colombo, Targets New Phase of Growth

CBC Finance PLC, a fully owned subsidiary of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC and a registered finance company regulated by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, officially opened its new head office at No. 211, Dr. N.M. Perera Mawatha, Colombo 08, today.

The company previously operated its main office from No. 182, Kandy Road, Katugastota. CBC Finance said relocating its head office to Colombo, Sri Lanka’s key commercial and economic centre, is expected to strengthen its corporate governance capabilities and support the further expansion of its islandwide service network.

The company was established in 1987 as Indra Leasing Limited. In 2014, Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC acquired 100% ownership of the company, marking a major strategic transformation. The institution was subsequently renamed Serendib Leasing and Finance Limited before becoming CBC Finance PLC.

The company said it has strengthened its financial position, digital capabilities and capital base in line with Central Bank regulations, while also improving its Fitch Ratings.

CBC Finance provides a range of financial services to individuals, micro-entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including vehicle leasing facilities, flexible vehicle loans, fixed deposits and gold-backed loans offering competitive returns.

Commenting on the opening of the new head office, CBC Finance PLC Executive Director Thilakshan Hettiarachchi said the relocation to Colombo was a key component of the company’s long-term strategic plan.

He said bringing corporate governance and executive functions together in the country’s main commercial hub would improve operational efficiency, while the new premises would provide employees with modern infrastructure and advanced technological tools.

The opening ceremony was attended by CBC Finance PLC and Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC Chairman Sharhan Muhseen, Commercial Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Sanath Manatunga, Chief Operating Officer Sanjaya Perera, CBC Finance’s Chandana Gunasekara, along with other senior executives, invited guests and industry representatives.
