British High Commissioner Andrew Patrick Pays Courtesy Visit to Gangaramaya Temple

British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Andrew Patrick paid a courtesy visit to the iconic Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo, where he met with Ven. Dr. Kirinde Assaji Nayaka Thero. The UK Government confirms Patrick is serving as the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.

During the meeting, discussions focused on religious and educational activities, strengthening understanding among communities and the role of religious institutions in supporting society.

Ven. Dr. Kirinde Assaji Nayaka Thero also briefed the High Commissioner on the ongoing Temple City Square development initiative, as well as the temple’s plans to further expand its religious, cultural, educational and community services.

The visit provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on areas of mutual interest and highlighted the longstanding relationship between Gangaramaya Temple and the British High Commission.

The meeting also continued a relationship between High Commissioner Patrick and Gangaramaya Temple. He had previously visited the temple in March 2024 shortly after taking up his appointment, when he met Ven. Dr. Kirinde Assaji Thero and received a book published by the temple.
