BestWeb.LK Awards Celebrates 16 Years of Digital Excellence in Sri Lanka

LK Domain Registry has marked 16 years of the BestWeb.LK Awards, Sri Lanka’s national web competition and a benchmark for digital excellence, with a grand awards ceremony held recently at Monarch Imperial.

The event was attended by Chief Guest Pradeep Saputhanthri, Secretary to the Prime Minister, who presented the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for the Best Overall Websites. LK Domain Registry was represented by Chairman Indika De Zoysa and Director, CEO & Domain Registrar Prof. Gihan Dias, along with other members of the organisation.

A total of 106 awards were presented across 24 categories, recognising outstanding achievements across Sri Lanka’s digital landscape.

The Overall Gold Award was presented to homelandsskyline.lk, while parliament.lk received the Overall Silver Award and jatholdings.lk was awarded Overall Bronze.

In the Best Web Developer category, 3CS won Gold, followed by Web Lankan (Pvt) Ltd. with Silver and Shanika Rajapaksha with Bronze.

Addressing the gathering, Pradeep Saputhanthri highlighted the growing importance of digital presence in shaping how organisations and countries are perceived globally. He noted that high-quality websites are increasingly an economic advantage, a competitive strength and a national priority.

Prof. Gihan Dias reflected on the origins of the BestWeb.LK Awards, explaining that the initiative was created to recognise organisations and individuals developing websites that are useful, informative and user-friendly. He also noted that the judging process has evolved over the years, incorporating software and AI alongside the expertise of an experienced judging panel.

BestWeb.LK features 24 award categories covering a broad range of industries, with all .lk websites eligible to participate. Entries are assessed according to defined criteria by a panel comprising ICT professionals, academics and business leaders.

As the BestWeb.LK 2026 competition concludes, attention now turns to TopWeb.LK, the entry platform and qualifying stage for BestWeb.LK 2027. The upcoming initiative will give website owners an opportunity to benchmark their digital presence and take the first step towards competing in next year’s awards.
